Terms of service

About korot

korot (korot.app) is a greeting card maker. You pick an animated or still greeting card we designed for your occasion, such as a newborn, a wedding, a graduation, Eid, Friday or a birthday, add the names and your greeting, preview it, and share it by link or download it as a video or picture. korot works on the website and in the korot apps for iOS and Android, and you use it yourself: it is software, not a design service run by people.

korot does not sell gift cards, vouchers, credits or any stored value; "cards" on korot always means greeting cards.

korot is operated by TechMaker (techmaker.io), called "we" or "us" in these terms, and when you use korot your agreement is with TechMaker. By using the site or the app you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who can use korot

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, use and subscribe to the service with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Your account

You can browse and share cards without an account. We create a guest session when you start designing, and you can link it to your email (or, where offered, a Google or Apple account) at any time. Keep the sign-in codes we send you private; you are responsible for what happens in your account.

Your content

The names, greetings and messages you write in your cards stay yours. You give us a limited permission to store, process and display them only to create your card and show it to the people you share its link with.

You are responsible for what you add to your cards. You confirm that you have the right to use it and, where consent is needed, the consent of the people whose names or details you include. Anyone who has a share link can see the card, so share it only with people you choose.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use korot for: unlawful content; content that promotes hatred or violence or attacks any group because of religion, race, origin or any other characteristic; harassment or threats; sexual content; impersonation, deception, fraud or spam; infringing the intellectual property or privacy of others; or publishing anyone’s personal data without their consent.

You also agree not to hack or disrupt the service, spread malware, probe our systems for vulnerabilities, scrape content, get around plan limits, or resell the service or its templates.

We may remove any card or share link that breaks these terms.

Templates and intellectual property

korot and its templates, designs, animations and music are made by us and owned by or licensed to us, as are the fonts and software they use. korot does not offer templates sold by anyone else.

You receive a personal, non-exclusive licence to use and share the cards you make. It does not cover reselling cards or templates, or copying their designs for use outside korot.

Some of the background art and decorative visual effects in our templates, such as skies, light, balloons, flowers and ornaments, were made with the help of automated image tools (AI). That is their only use: korot is a greeting card maker, not a content-generation service, and these tools never depict real people, human faces or anyone’s likeness.

Reporting content and copyright

If you see a card that infringes your rights or breaks these terms, write to hello@korot.app with the card’s link, a description of the right concerned and your contact details. We will review the report and remove content that breaks the rules.

We may suspend or close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.

Plans and prices

korot is free to use. We offer two paid plans, Lite and Plus, as weekly, monthly or yearly subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel. There are no one-off purchases, no credits and no free trial.

Prices, currencies, billing periods and what each plan includes are listed on the pricing page, and the exact amount, including any tax, is shown before you confirm payment.

Editing is unlimited; exports have fair-use limits on each plan, listed on the fair use page.

Website purchases through Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our website orders. This means Paddle is the seller of the transaction: it handles billing, payment processing, collecting and paying applicable taxes, payment inquiries and refunds, appears on your statement and issues your receipt.

By completing a website purchase you also agree to Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Refund Policy.

Website plans are sold only to billing addresses in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman; an order with a billing address elsewhere is refunded in full and cancelled automatically. From any other country you can subscribe in the app.

In-app purchases

In the app, purchases go through the App Store or Google Play and follow their terms. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase, and the subscription renews automatically unless you turn off renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.

Each store sets the price in your local currency and shows it before you buy.

Automatic renewal and cancellation

Every subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, a week, a month or a year depending on your plan, at the plan’s then-current price, until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time: renewal stops and your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

On the website: Account, then Manage subscription; or the manage-subscription link in your Paddle receipt email; or write to us.

On iPhone and iPad: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, then korot, then Cancel Subscription.

On Android: the Google Play Store, then your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then korot, then Cancel subscription.

Deleting your account cancels a website subscription for you, so you are not charged again, but it cannot cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription: cancel that in the store as above. Deleting the app alone cancels nothing.

Price changes

We may change plan prices in the future. We will tell you before a change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it renews if it does not suit you. In the stores, Apple’s and Google’s rules on notice and consent apply.

Refunds

You can ask for a full refund of any website payment within 14 days of your first payment or of any renewal, no reason needed, through Paddle or by writing to us. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights. For App Store and Google Play purchases, you ask the store for a refund under its own rules.

Account deletion, suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page on the website, or in the app from Account, then Delete account. This deletes your cards, designs and share links and cancels a website subscription, so you are not charged again. Cancel App Store and Google Play subscriptions in the store.

We may suspend or close your account for a material breach of these terms, repeated or serious violations, non-payment, or a security or fraud risk, and we will tell you when we can.

Disclaimer and liability

We provide the service "as is" and work to keep it running, but we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may improve it or change some of its features or templates.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from its use, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your korot subscription in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This does not affect any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above shows the latest version. We will tell you about material changes, and continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept them.
